Mike Starr Death

Mike Starr Ex-Alice In Chains Bassist’s Death Twitter Messages: Friends Mike Starr and fans came out on Twitter, to express his sorrow about the former Alice in Chains bassist died Tuesday (March 8).
“The devastating to hear about Mike Starr succumbing to his illness,” tweeting Dr. Drew Pinsky, who treated Starr on VH1′s “Celebrity Rehab” and the spin-off show “House Sober”. “So very sad. Our prayers are with his family.”
Former Guns N Roses drummer Steven Adler – yet one of the founders of hard-rock powerhouse, whose career was on the sidelines of addiction – also hit Twitter: “! RIP Mike Starr Such a sad day: (: (Adler and “Celebrity Rehab” alum, although the two men appeared at separate seasons. Starr would have turned 45 next month.
“Drugs and alcohol are not a joke,” tweeted Matt Sorum Velvet Revolver drummer who replaced the Adler in GN’R. “Please take care of yourself and respect yourself. We lost Mike Starr today. Rest in peace man.”
Ex-Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy, who filled Avenged Sevenfold after they lost Jimmy “Version” Sullivan to overdose, had this to say via Twitter: “RIP Mike Starr … I watched his fight on Celebrity Rehab and was My fingers are crossed for his recovery … it kills … the sad thing … ”
Starr was found dead in Salt Lake City home on Tuesday. He played bass for Alice In Chains from their inception in the late 80′s until 1993, when he left Seattle grunge stars the tour for their second album, Dirt.
Alice In Chains have a few songs deal with drug addiction. “You can not understand a user’s mind,” the former lead singer Layne Staley sings in “Junkhead”. Staley died in 2002 after overdosing on a mixture of heroin and cocaine.
Mötley Crüe Nikki Six – the guy hard rock bassist, who made his own struggles with heroin is the public (even named his book and the accompanying album side project Sixx AM “Heroin Diaries”) – tweeted:. “RIP Mike Starr Another fallen soldier with a drug addiction …: (
“Mike Starr was great and the restless guy,” chirped the actress Mackenzie Phillips, who appeared on “Celebrity Rehab” with Starr. “I loved it. He would be so happy to know that he is # TT right now. Rest in peace, brother. # Dopekills”

Another season three Starr castmates, Lisa D’Amato from “America’s Next Top Model”, chirped: “My stomach is in my throat We love U, Mike # RIPMikey, ..” C @ replies to Dr. Drew Phillips, a consultant, Bob Forrest, and Jennifer Jimenez, actress, best known for reality TV viewers as the house manager on VH1′s “Sober House”.
“I am shocked and saddened for the loss of Mike Starr,” Jimenez tweeting.
“Mike Starr was my friend, and” D’Amato tweeted some time later. “He’s larger than life heart. My last visit W / it was funny and sweet. I will always rmbr that. <3 # RIPMike”.
“Mike Starr can you RIP”, chirped the comedian Dane Cook. “Your music is loved forever.”
Pro wrestler and a hard rock musician Chris Jericho tweeted, “Sorry, I’ve heard about the death of Mike Starr. Fonds all joked about tiger blood and victory, let us not forget that drugs kill people.”
“The terrible news,” chirped Mark Morton, guitarist with the heavy metal band Lamb Of God. “RIP Mike Starr.
